Mashreq appoints AlSalt Mohammed Al Kharusi as Country Head of Oman

In his new role, AlSalt Mohammed Al Kharusi brings over two decades of leadership experience to spearhead Mashreq’s strategy, performance, and operations in Oman.

Mashreq has announced the appointment of AlSalt Mohammed Al Kharusi as the Country Head of Oman, effective February 2024.

In his new role, Al Kharusi brings over two decades of leadership experience. He will oversee the bank's strategy, performance, and operations in Oman, ensuring compliance with local and international standards. Additionally, he will enhance client experiences, drive digital transformation, and foster a culture of excellence and innovation for the bank in the region. 

Before his appointment, Al Kharusi served as the General Manager Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking at Oman Arab Bank. Previously, he worked with HSBC Oman as Deputy General Manager and Head of Corporate Banking. 

On the academic front, Al Kharusi holds an MBA degree from Strathclyde University and a BSc degree in Business Administration Management and Information Systems from Oxford Brookes University.

Welcoming Al Kharusi on the leadership team, Tarek El Nahas, Group Head of International Banking at Mashreq, said, “We are delighted to welcome Alsalt to the Mashreq family.
